The countdown to your holiday has started. It’s time to start packing and planning…but what should you bring, and what do you need to arrange in advance? Here are our top tips to help you enjoy your stay at Warren Farm in the best way possible.
1. Get cosy
Pack a slightly warmer layer to wear in the evenings or at night. Our farm sits at 1000 feet above sea level, which means wonderful cooling breezes on sunny days – but it can get chilly at night. And don’t forget your feet – you’ll appreciate a pair of slippers for cosy evenings by the fire.
2. Bring a torch
Our pods and lodges are equipped with candles and oil lamps, creating a lovely, romantic glow at night – but now and then you may find you want something brighter, especially if you’re cooking or reading in the evening. With that in mind, it’s a good idea to pack a couple of electric torches, lanterns or solar lamps for times when you want to brighten things up.
3. Bring foods you love – but check our honesty shop first
A lot of our guests say that while they usually take a lot of food on a camping trip, they don’t when they come to Warren Farm because our honesty shop is so well stocked. We’ve got all the basics, including excellent produce from local producers and everything you need for an outstanding barbecue. You can find a list of what we stock in this blog post.
4. Order a hamper!
When it comes to a warm welcome, nothing beats having a hamper of food waiting for you when you arrive. We work with several excellent local independent food businesses to bring you a range of hampers including: fruit hampers, salad hampers, veg hampers, breakfast hampers, barbecue hampers and cream tea hampers. You can order these in advance of your arrival or have them delivered during your stay. Just place your order with us and we’ll collect it for you!
5. Be mindful of the British weather
Do take a look at the weather forecast before you arrive – and pack your clothes accordingly! You can have a wonderful time here at Warren Farm rain or shine – but it helps if you have Wellington boots and coats if rain is forecast. We have a washing machine and tumble dryer on-site, so there’s no need to bring too many clothes, and if you do get wet and muddy, the problem is easily fixed. When it comes to rainy-day entertainment, don’t worry – we have a supply of games you can enjoy in your accommodation, and there are lots of great wet-weather attractions in the area. Stay tuned for a blog post about those, coming soon!
